ERS is committed to providing career development opportunities in respiratory medicine and science to all early career members.
This year's Congress offers essential networking opportunity allowing individuals beginning their respiratory careers to meet and discuss relevant topics with experienced and highly accomplished respiratory professionals as well as their immediate peers. There are also specific networking activities planned as part of the programme, such as the Young Scientists Networking Evening.
Additionally, we have a full educational programme including a number of professional development workshops which are new this year and will be particularly valuable to our early career members because they provide practical tips and guidelines on selected topics and procedures led by experts in the field. These will take place alongside the usual organised sessions and grand rounds.
Dr Agnes Boots, Chair of the ERS Early Career Members' committee, said: "The Congress is a great place to hear the latest respiratory topics in the field, alongside providing an invaluable networking opportunity for all professionals starting out in the respiratory field. ERS values the dedication, enthusiasm and commitment of Early Career Members and a series of dedicated sessions are aimed at welcoming and involving this group of professionals into the heart of ERS."
We would like to highlight the following activities in particular, but would encourage early career members to view the full programme and search out sessions and courses according to their field of interest.
Get involved with the early career/junior members committee (JMC) by putting yourself forward for nomination in the upcoming elections. For more information about the process please contact your Assembly Head or Assembly JMC representative here.
Note: Educational sessions (postgraduate courses, skills workshops, challenging clinical cases, professional development workshops and meet the expert sessions) can be attended at an additional cost to the standard registration fee.
